a walk in the flowers

had a lovely walk with the doggies this weekend.  beautiful weather and the flowers are just amazing right now!

azaleas always remind me of my childhood, so they hold a special place to me.

hibiscus are everywhere in our neighborhood...fast becoming a favorite of mine :)

and i just am in love with the dark purple tulips, so beautiful and mysterious!

spring rejuvenation

good morning lovelies!! how was your weekend? hopefully fun and relaxing :) i got to spend time with a dear friend, take our little ones to the dog park (bowie is a RIOT at the dog park, pure entertainment...), and listen to some fun music on a beautiful patio while eating delicious food and catching up with old friends. all in all, i'd say it was a success!

it's officially spring, a time of renewal and rebirth...so what do you say we shed some winter skin? maybe it's feelings you've been harboring, something in your life you're ready to leave behind, maybe it's just changing our winter coats out for sun dresses and sandals, or maybe it's a completely new leaf you're turning. today, i'm going to let go of things i can't control and leave it up to the universe. i feel relieved and rejuvenated already!

nothing but flowers

we are really spoiled on our walks lately. the weather has been so beautiful and the flowers are just vibrant! today it's a little bit gloomy but i could use a lazy day so i'm not complaining. and sorry i lied, i completely spaced and forgot to take a shot of our new mint plant. soon friends, soon.

i can tell you, i am so ready for the weekend...with hopes that there will be sun tomorrow, i fully expect to be out in it! my pasty-ness is completely out of control and i'm in serious need of some vitamin d. our apartment is also in serious need of a cleaning so i just may have to do that as well.

weekend blooms...and food!

some more of our flowers popped up over the weekend and they look beautiful!

on saturday, stephen and i took advantage of the awesome weather and headed down to the farmer's market. like the goofball i am, i forgot that my camera battery was dead and didn't get any pics from the market. however, i snapped this one of the delicious blueberries we picked up.

we also found a fantastic little butcher shoppe there that had cheeses from the mozzarella co. here in dallas and we got a mozzarella roll with sun dried tomatoes - i can't wait to try it! after stephen took off to work (-1 for the restaurant biz), i enjoyed a nice lunch with the girls - complete with a little shopping, of course.

on sunday i had a most delicious brunch at vickery park with my lovely friend kari. i swear, they put some kind of voodoo magic in their migas because they have got to be one of my favorite brunch items in all of the big D (second only to the eggs benedict with crab meat at taverna...absolute bliss).  after stuffing myself silly and then napping with roxy, i managed to put away all of my winter clothes and get everything out in preparation of summer! i literally is just around the corner...where does the time go?

scenes from a spring walk

the skies were so blue yesterday! all of the colors are really popping right now with all of the flowers and all things spring. it was a lovely walk on a lovely day...and of course i had to include the flamingos, too funny.

ps. i did go take my diana pics to get developed, but apparently since they are in black and white they have to send them off and it takes 10 days!! TEN! wow. so i'll get back to you on those :)

in bloom

this little beauty has opened up right outside our door...stephen and i planted a row on each side of the walkway and this is the only one that's showed up to the party so far! the others are coming slowly but surely...i think they were smart and waited until after the snow to come out of the ground.

looks like spring

the sun is shining bright...i think it might get above 60 today! don't get me wrong, i do love the winter weather, but i'm also a big fan of having four whole seasons. i'm sure roxy is ready for some warmer weather - when it's cold and dreary i become a bad mom and don't walk her near as much.

so here are a few things i'm looking forward to this spring:

• bike rides in the sun
• farmer's market trips 
• laying in the park with rox
• breezy sundresses (maybe i need to rethink this...my legs are pasty...)
• tulips! we planted some at winter and the bulbs are already coming up...hope they last a little while :)
