winning!

no, this post isn't about charlie sheen...

recently i entered a contest with mama's a rolling stone and won a $100 gift certificate to one of my favorite online stores, nasty gal. i was beyond stoked, but took my time in spending so i could get just the right things :) and finally, here are my choices:

super cute high waisted blue shorts

way awesome knuckle ring (i don't have anything like this so i was definitely reaching out of my little style box for this one!)

and this way fun yellow bag...if that doesn't scream i'm ready for sunshine, i don't know what does!!

bringing love back

with the lovey-doviest of holidays approaching, you can't help but see everything in reds, pinks, hearts and flowers...not that i'm complaining, i'm a sucker for all of it! but this especially caught my eye immediately and i had to share.

how sweet is this dress?! totally swoon-worthy...and this could easily be a romantic date dress (say, for valentine's day, perhaps?). bonus? it has pockets! (found here)

hunter wellies

since there was a smidge of snow on the ground yesterday, i seized the opportunity to wear my new hunter welly boots :)

remember when i asked santa so sweetly for them? well he brought them in the most perfect color of aubergine and i love them! yay for snowy/rainy/any days that i can wear my wellies.

dress up

i don't think i've ever done a straight fashion post here, but there are some swoon-worthy looks out there right now that i just have to share with you.  here are my pretend-shopping picks for the day:

the top outfit is a must for a casual day of shopping or brunching with the ladies, how comfy does that poncho look? it makes me want to snuggle :) and the shoes? too cute. (from lulu's and free people). and for a trés chic night out, pair  this dress (from nastygal) and hat (from asos) together, complete with those red lips and you've got a showstopper!

and i think i'll go ahead and add all of these to my christmas list...

soak it up

 

it's a cold and rainy day here; it was very hard to pry myself out of bed.  but hey, it's friday right??  seems like a perfect night to relax at home and snuggle with roxy...maybe finally work on those buttons i thought i would do last weekend. hopefully tomorrow will bring some sunshine for the endless errands i have to run, and then an evening catching up with a lovely friend (complete with delicious wine and food, of course!).

oh, and does anyone watch project runway? is it me, or did that team challenge bring out the absolute WORST in everyone?! i mean the designs were fine, but they (all) were really not nice working together. that said, i'm glad that ping was cut, but i really thought emilio & anna's designs were tops.
