truthful tuesday - the mint plant

i realize it's been a while since my last truthful tuesday confession, so i have a good one for you today. remember the mint plant i told you about? well, let's discuss. stephen brought home the plant on wednesday and we were both excited to have a new plant! i forgot all about taking the picture of it with all the weekend relaxing and spring cleaning going on...fast forward to sunday. stephen got home from work and i said "hey what did you do with that mint plant?" stephen said "oh i set it outside to get some sunshine."  i can only guess that happened on thursday. when i went outside to check on it, the plant was limp and knocked over. it looked horrible. turns out mint plants need minimal sun and we had it sitting out there in full on sun for the two least cloudy days i've seen all year. then i remembered the huge thunderstorm on friday night. oh lord what did we do?! i'm not sure if it's completely dead or possibly able to revive...but there you have it, we killed the mint plant.

in honor of my dear, possibly departed minty, here is a photo of a not-dead plant.

Aw, what a shame! There's still hope though! Perhaps you could move it in to a not-so-sunny window and give it some love. I've never grown a mint plant but all my herbs have been successful in a window sill in our south-facing window and if they are watered every day they revive in no time.

Oh no! RIP mint plant! But I've gotta say, once those things are way grown in, they're tough little soldiers and spread like weeds...
And woahwoahwoah, maybe I missed the boat here, but have you got a boyfriend named Stephan? And your name is Stephanie? Ohmygoodness, that makes my heart squeal. I've got a real-life friend named Daniele, and she's dating a Daniel, and I still can't get over it :)

haha melina you did miss the boat! stephen is my husband (almost 5 years...eep!) so yeah we're stephen and stephanie, everyone (including us) gets a kick out of it. there is a whole story with his family, as he has two older sisters, stephanie and stacey. haha! here's a funny one: our bff casey just got engaged to an amazing girl named chrissy...isn't that cute?! casey and chrissy. love it.

this story reminds me of my experience with killing a basil plant. at least the intention was good, right? all this mint talk has me craving a mojito!

Oh sad. My roommate and I had a plant and every time it was healthy, we never got any dates. So we started calling it the love plant...only in reverse. And finally I managed to kill it dead and we've both had good luck in love ever since :)

Dear lord. This is what happens when you try to read blogs while working at the same time. And not being a follower since post 1. Pardon my ignorance, lady! But at least that makes the surprise learnings so much more fun :)
