so i just posted about last weekend...

and it's already friday again! woo hoo! yay for a quick week :) we've been busy busy this week, had some dear friends in town last night and plan on having a nice, long weekend...we will be visiting friends again for the 4th and getting in some more, much needed lake time!

best bonnaroo moments

well friends, we made it back...safe and sound, all in one piece! bonnaroo was tons of fun.  we met some great new friends and got to hang out with some long-time besties. while i could go on and on about all the great moments, i will narrow it down to 10, not in any order, but just 10 amazing moments :)

1. best show of the weekend - arcade fire, hands down (watch this video for the magic)
2. best artist outfit surprise - jim james of my morning jacket in furry white boots...
3. best late night show + best crowd - scissor sisters
4. most surprising guest on stage - kareem abdul jabbar with bootsy collins....i mean, really?!
5. funniest moment in a crowd - the guy who was enjoying his first funnel cake and asked me no less than 3 times "have you ever had a funnel cake?! do you want to try some???"
6. weirdest moment - string cheese incident, late night on saturday, there was a guy with a jet pack, a guy suspended from huge balloons and a gigantic t-rex...and a visit from the sexy sax man
7. song i never thought i'd see live - string cheese incident, sirens (i love that song.)
8. craziest moment at camp - sunday, bashing our neighbor's van with a crow bar...they asked us to!
9. magical musical moment from camp - waking up from a nap to hear buffalo springfield belting out "keep on rocking in the free world"
10. 3 words: food truck oasis.

in short, everything was amazing. something about being miles away from any kind of reality, bonding with thousands of strangers over beautiful music...it's just wonderful.

epic girls night

one of my dearest friends is moving away very soon, so our little group of girls decided to have one last hurrah on saturday...it was a girls' night of epic proportions. we had all of ginger's favorite dallas-local foods, made girly drinks like bellinis and frozen hurricanes, watched the shining and princess bride, made brownie fudge sundaes and even broke out the limbo stick at some point...it was definitely the girls night to end all girls nights, complete with sleepover and followed by hangover :)

gingy, we will miss you so, but our memories could last us a lifetime...and denver is just a phone call away!

sweet friends, we are leaving town today to travel to tulsa for our dear friends' melissa and kevin's wedding. stephen and i are both part of the wedding party so we are super excited to be part of what i'm sure will be an epic wedding day. melissa and kevin are the type of couple that when you're around them, their love is palpable but not in the "oh my goodness you're making me nauseated" kind of way. it's inspiring.

we have been friends with kevin for many years, and he was even our wedding photographer nearly 6 years ago :)  to see his love for melissa grow over these past few years has been quite heartwarming. and to get to know and become great friends with melissa, has been a true blessing in my life.

we wish them strength and happiness in their new endeavor as an incredible married couple!

i can't wait to tell you about all the fun festivities...let me just say that i know a jupiter jump will be involved...

the bachelorette weekend was a great success! tons of fun in eureka springs, such a beautiful area with more to do than you would ever expect from such a remote small town ... either that or we were really giving the locals something to talk about... probably a little of both ;)

the hawaiian lovers' wedding

first things first

here are some pics from stephen's birthday party last weekend...it was saturday night live themed!

well we are back and had a most wonderful time in gatlinburg with our little family of friends! i have lots of pics to share but haven't gotten around to downloading, editing, etc...so i'm just going to give you this little gem:

oh yes. we totally did that. we thought it was very fitting for gatlinburg, so naturally we couldn't resist. if you're thinking we look a bit mad, the guy was telling us to look mean and since we were laughing so much, we had to try harder to look mean and i think we succeeded...especially stephen! look at that snarl!

what happened in vegas....

was awesome. that was the best trip to vegas i've had yet!

i could not have asked for a better time - from the place we stayed (the wynn, incredible!), our group, and our VIP host michael who was amazing. if you ever want every little thing taken care of for you without the stress of planning, contact michael, the sin city vip,  and you will not regret it one bit! i will be using this service anytime i go back to sin city. well if you wanted more details, sorry i let you down...but you know how the saying goes ;)

viva las vegas

well kiddos and kiddettes, stephen and i will be on a plane to vegas this time tomorrow. we're heading to sin city for the big celebration of our best friends' bachelor & bachelorette extravaganza.  we have friends coming from nashville (the married couple-to-be), tulsa, los angeles and dallas, so it will be quite the reunion as well! since it's been over a year since our entire group has had an adventure together, it's long overdue and we are beyond excited.

it's been about 4 years since i was last in vegas so i'm looking forward to the craziness that is the strip and beyond. i'm a big fan of the freemont experience and the downtown area so hopefully we can take everyone to see that (all of the girls coming are first-timers so it should be a riot!).  have you ever been to vegas? to you like it or leave it? the bright lights, night life, shopping, dining and gambling all draw me in and when i'm there i just can't get enough.  city of excess, right? well i will be sure to tell you all (ok maybe not ALL) about it next week!

oh and have no fear, roxy will be living the good life here while we're gone.

with love all around

well we had such a fun trip to tulsa over the weekend! we got to catch up with friends & family, do my little reunion (very fun, and small so it was pressure-free :)) but the highlight came on saturday night when our friends kevin & melissa got engaged!! kevin invited everyone to mcnellie's (where melissa works) and told her that since she had to work all weekend, he brought the group to her.  he waited until she was ready to come take our orders and called her over to pop the question.  she was SO surprised!! both of their parents were there to experience this joyous occasion and as an added bonus, kevin had arranged for melissa to get off work immediately to celebrate - and the next morning for a little recovery! so here they are, in all their lovey-dovey glory:

what a couple of cuties, right? i couldn't be more happy for them, what a beautiful love they share.  oh! and you can watch the video of the whole thing:

vacation

well i'm leaving tomorrow morning for the wakarusa music festival.  it will be a nice little vacay with friends, fun and lots of music! we're so excited.  now, i need to go finish packing and get little miss rox to her sitter.  have a fun week & weekend and i will see you all next week!

we had such an amazing time hanging out at the lake this weekend. lots of relaxing, game playing and some sun when it finally came out on sunday. i even brought my sparklers, because really, what better place to do fireworks than on the water?

and here's danielle giving roxy a little lesson in fishing and fire safety...she was very concerned about all the activity.

oh weekend!

is it just me or has this been a long week?! i'm so glad to be heading up to the lake with some friends to enjoy a peaceful weekend. it might rain, but all the more fun playing games inside, right? plus roxy gets to come on our little getaway so i know she'll be excited.

hug it out

yesterday i was feeling a little down. you know those days when all you want is a big hug?? for someone to sit down and talk to you, or just listen, or just be there. well i mentioned on facebook that i needed a hug, and the virtual hugging began...not quite the same as a big in-person bear hug, but it left me feeling warm and fuzzy nonetheless.

 

then today i came across this:
