the pedestrian bridge has got to be one of my favorite things about tulsa. when we lived there, stephen and i were just blocks away on riverside and would often take little walks there along the river and enjoy the scenery. honestly, it's not the prettiest site since the arkansas river is no gem and it's right by the old electricity public service co., but there is something about it's charm that always makes me feel like home. it was incredibly windy when we were there but i managed to snap a few fun shots on my iphone.
that's us in front of the tulsa "skyline." i always love thinking about the quaint skyline there when we come back to dallas, it makes me smile :)

with love all around
well we had such a fun trip to tulsa over the weekend! we got to catch up with friends & family, do my little reunion (very fun, and small so it was pressure-free :)) but the highlight came on saturday night when our friends kevin & melissa got engaged!! kevin invited everyone to mcnellie's (where melissa works) and told her that since she had to work all weekend, he brought the group to her. he waited until she was ready to come take our orders and called her over to pop the question. she was SO surprised!! both of their parents were there to experience this joyous occasion and as an added bonus, kevin had arranged for melissa to get off work immediately to celebrate - and the next morning for a little recovery! so here they are, in all their lovey-dovey glory:
what a couple of cuties, right? i couldn't be more happy for them, what a beautiful love they share. oh! and you can watch the video of the whole thing:
you can just see the surprise in her face, i love it!! congrats mel & fuzz!!

a union reunion
so dear friends this is the weekend, it's my 10 year high school reunion (sigh). seems like just yesterday we were sneaking out of our parents' houses, dreading (and skipping) class and thinking that prom and graduation were the biggest, best times of our lives.
we decided not to do the full-on reunion, and instead our old "crew" is having a big pool party tomorrow! i'm excited to catch up with friends i haven't seen in ages and seeing what awesome grown-ups everyone has become. i look back on high school and see how much that time influenced my life to date - i'm definitely a far cry from the girl i was then...no regrets, but maybe some stuff i just care not to remember! ha! what was your life like in high school? do you think it influenced your life today very much?
so we're hitting the road this morning, tulsa bound, for the union high school class of 2000 reunion. should be a hoot! i'll keep you posted. for now, i'll leave you with this little gem my friend daphne recently posted on facebook (she's on the far right):
this is from when our volleyball team did the ropes course at school - that's me in the red :) with my bff jenn right in front of me...it's funny, we're completely different people today, but have always been best friends, i love how that hasn't changed.
you guys have a super weekend!!
xoxo
